What is deku manga?

Deku is a character from the manga and anime series "My Hero Academia." The series follows the story of Izuku Midoriya, a boy born without superpowers in a world where having superpowers, or "quirks," is the norm. Despite his lack of powers, Izuku dreams of becoming a hero like his idol, All Might.

In the series, Deku is Izuku's nickname, given to him by his childhood friend, Katsuki Bakugo. After Izuku receives a quirk from All Might, he begins training to become a hero and adopts the persona of Deku.

The Deku manga, also known as "Boku no Hero Academia Illegals," is a spin-off prequel to the main My Hero Academia manga. It is set several years before the events of the main series and follows the story of two young vigilantes who operate outside the law to protect their neighborhood from danger.

The Deku manga is written by Hideyuki Furuhashi and illustrated by Betten Court. It was first serialized in Shueisha's Jump GIGA magazine in 2016 and has since been collected into several volumes.
